Breast enhancement procedures are usually performed to give breasts a more youthful and shapely look. Breast enhancement surgeries are performed for a variety of different results. Breast surgeries include raising and re-shaping of breasts, enhancing their appearance by using implants to increase their size and even reduction of breast size for both men and women.

Now some people are not happy with how their ear looks! A plastic surgery for enhancing hearing capabilities is totally justifiable, but if you are going for it just so that it appears more attractive, you need to know some things before that.

Those who have been through it feel that the expenses involved in the plastic surgery are too much compared to the change in appearance it may give you.

I think even if you do have ugly ears, it is important that they allow you to hear! Why should you spend a fortune on beautifying them?

Thanks for hearing me out, what say?

Cleft Lip and Cleft Palate Plastic Surgery

Friday, March 13th, 2009

These abnormalities can occur together or individually. Incomplete cleft lip is easier to fix and results in a more natural looking lip. If the cleft lip is extensive two surgeries may be required to close the cleft.

Cleft palate treatment is done by using a palatal obturator to see temporary results. This is a prosthetic device made to fit the roof of the mouth covering the gap. It can also be fixed with surgery but repetitive surgeries will be required as the patient grows. If the cleft extends into the maxillary alveolar ridge, it is corrected using the patients own bone tissue, obtained from the chin, ribs, or hip.

Buttock Augmentation

Thursday, March 12th, 2009

Buttock augmentation can be of 2 types. One is a buttock lift another being buttock enlargement. It usually involves reducing the area around the buttocks using liposuction and injecting the buttocks with fat injections to enlarge them. The fat is processed and purified after removing it from the patient before it is injected back. Buttock implants are stronger than breast implants and made of elastomer that can’t leak.

Implants are placed into a small incision made above the sitting area. The inter-muscular augmentation, augmented only the upper third portion of the buttocks, where as implants can augment the entire area.

Chin Augmentation

Wednesday, March 11th, 2009

Chin augmentation is done using surgical implants and can alter the structure of the face by helping in balancing features. This is achieved by the manipulation of the jaw bone. This technique gives better results than using prosthetic implants. This is a relatively easy operation when compared to chin implants which uses bones from other areas to reconstruct the chin.

Minor complications like swelling, blood pooling and numbness can occur, which will disappear soon. Infections and displacement of the implant are less common risks. Biocompatible materials that do not make the body react against it is used. Sometimes, tissues from donors are also used.

Plastic Surgery

Friday, March 6th, 2009

Plastic surgery has been gaining ever increasing popularity thanks to the technological advances made in the field. Essentially, there are two types of plastic surgeries: reconstructive and cosmetic. Reconstructive plastic surgery mainly deals with removing deformities which may be genetic or caused by accident. These surgeries are mainly performed when the deformity starts to interfere with the proper functioning of the body part.
On the other hand, cosmetic plastic surgery, or aesthetic surgery as it is called, is performed mainly to improve on appearance by transforming a small feature. Plastic surgery may include changing facial features, removing excessive fat or shaping certain parts of the body.
